Mom's Soul Recipes
My mom was an excellent chef
Magnificent cook, had magical fingers
Her dishes were unique, though i missed it
For the past 31 years, it still lingers in my mind
My mouth waters even today....
When i reached the heart of the home
To touch the stomach of my growing son
I harness much creativity and love
With tremendous interest and lots of passion
To try new and innovative dishes
But this morning i tried
One of the soul recipes, from my mom's kitchen
ADDAI AND AVIYAL, unique south Indian dish
With the fresh vegetables and curd and rice and dhal
Keeping in mind the nutritious balance and taste
When i served it, as the break fast, my son said mom...
This is mind blowing, the best of all your foods
How did you learn it, why you didn't serve it all these days!
I was overwhelmed by his appreciation for traditional recipes
But the real credit goes to my dear mother!
Food! Unique and nutricious! ! Learning from mothers. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

my son said mom... This is mind blowing, the best of all your foods How did you learn it, why you didn't serve it all these days! ohhh your wonderful son to give such praises to his dearest mum... wonderful relationship......... let it be..... and let you grow in love and love feelings. this is my prayer for u dear poetess.
