Momento Mori



This is the horror of life
The beauty in the shadow
The light on the lake
Glistened by the moon
The smile on your face
Your tears streaming in the afternoon
This is the balance of life
The desperation of dawn
The sun on your window
Refracted by the glass and encapsulating silence
Open your eyes
Breathe conscious breaths
Talk genuine feelings
Feel painful stabbing
Close your eyes
Lose yourself in the enchantment of your dreams
Record your life through your holy memories
Catch yourself in a fleeting moment
Of times transient ticking
To help yourself remember
What happiness used to feel like
Keep your footsteps going
To find that place again
Keep your silhouette walking
To a certain chandelier
Where you can stop to watch your candle
Flickering away and beating like your heart
This is the life of life
Death and life are continuous
And this is the continuity we are searching for
To live a singular existence
Amid beauty and horror
Are they not the same?
Winters cold grip
Lingers in the air
Springs lonely spirit
Melts in the harbor
Summers radiant horizon
Lives on in heaven
Autumn’s faint echo
Dies in the tree’s
