Moon Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Moon

The birds
The animals
Human beings
And creatures all
Set on to their
Habitats
Before
The Sun set
In the west
Tired of
Day’s routine
To take shelter
Sleep and rest
Refreshing for
Tomorrow’s task.

While
The whole
Universe sleeps
From darkness
Of clouds
In the sky
Moon steeps
Or the lovers
In sickness
Awake.

Calm
And Cool
Moonlit beams
Stir up
Thus
Making
Lovers meet
Though
Several
Miles away
From
Each other
One here at
The other at
Some
Distant place.
Where
They stay
Lamenting
However
Their hearts
Sing
And dance
Deep in love
Physically
Even if
They can’t
Spiritually
Yet they treat.

The souls
Intercourse
Tossing free
Awake
Making
A discourse
Sharing
Their intent
Concentrating
Whilst
Staring
At the moon
In search of
True love
As aspiration.

At the moon
Under
Loving care
Of Achelois
Moon goddess
And Venus
Goddess of love
Cupid’s mother
Where
Souls fling free
Merry making
In ideal
Romance
Chatting
At no cost
Holding close
Embracing and
Whispering
In ears
Making legends
So great.

O’ holy moon!
Sweet thou art
A rendezvous
Lending
Love to all
For that reason
Thy sweetness
Is thy holy task.
