Moonlight & Fireflies Poem by Patricia Gale

Moonlight & Fireflies

Rating: 5.0

Midnight blue sky twinkles with stars of love
The moon shines bright like a virgin dove
The field blinks continually with green light
And the silence brings a peaceful night

My thoughts drift to another time
To a place so sublime
You and I gazing into each others eyes
Feeling the connection between you and I

Embers of golden heat dancing with flames of midnight blue
Passion from hearts that ring with love so true
My mind sails to your arms
And for the first time life voids out all harm

I drift on clouds filled with desire
As the flames burn higher with the crackling fire
Soaring next to angel wings
My soul sings

Envisioning your lips pressed gently next to mine
Sweet, sweet lover’s wine
Harvested from a time of dreams and longing
This moment for our souls finding

Hopes and dreams
Making believe it is real, or so it seems
Counting the beat of my heart
Praying someday, somehow it will all come true and never depart
