More About Nothing Poem by Kewayne Wadley

More About Nothing

Suddenly I lost myself in her gaze
Words simply couldn't explain it
She helplessly stared back surely wondering what my problem was or if something was on her face or not
Before that day I had never seen an angel take flight
My eyes couldn't help the intrusion
Sure of that moment I knew God placed her there
I was sure of it
Her skin drenched in honey as it shone brightly in the suns light
Her hair shone of the laces of the models that quickly flash across the TV screen
Enjoying momentarily bliss as the paychecks they were paid to portray such happiness
Except
This was before my own eyes
The seconds crept by as I felt my soul jump out of my body almost as slapping me
Telling me to say something fool
Do anything but do not let this moment pass
But to be honest, I couldn't
I was paralyzed in her stare
Mesmerized by such heavenly slender
I was liberated from such feelings that weighed me down
I missed her before I knew her
I felt addiction before I knew I was an addict
She didn't know it but she became the highlight of my days
