More Love...Sort Of. Poem by Leonard Champlin

More Love...Sort Of.

He tried to steal her heart and set her free
but broke his heart instead on bended knee.

He'd wonder what he did that was so wrong
that she would never hear his passioned song.

Or why she played the game the way she did
the sheltered pain inside her heart she hid.

It's really two lost souls who have no clue
on how to find true love and start anew.

He tried so hard to take her off her feet
he tried too hard to make their lives complete.

To make a person love is hard to do
to teach a person love can make you blue.

But maybe in this life not meant to be
two hearts that don't belong are now set free.

When all is said and done
he'll go away
there's nothing more to do
or more
to say...
