More To Life Poem by Laquory Jones

More To Life

There was always more to Life I know I hear that
All the time it's just crazy how the time seems
To fly as I look up at the sky I find myself looking
Down sometimes as the stars above me Shine
While holding in my very deep regrets there's so
Much to life I may never understand but I still try
To do all that I can it's the definition on how to be
A better man but I can't help but wonder why
People lose their will to survive
(Richie isn't seeing it)
No doubt I've tried I can't help but sigh
It hurts to cry just trying to keep all these feelings
Inside people turning to suicide the Gov't creating
Genocides and it's eating me alive so
Please don't let this be our last goodbye
Just know there's always more to life

I sit trying to break the ice life is a gamble it comes
With a hefty price these emotions will never subside
Wearing these battle scars only reminds me of the many
Times we had to fight for all our rights doesn't
Matter if your purple, black or white for love we would
Constantly fight but what happens when you lose the
Love of your Life to suicide you see I have this friend
That's struggling with this I understand this subject
Is quite sensitive but it has hit me hard I don't quite
Know where to even start but it isn't easy to just
Discard it all seemed to happen overnight
Problems tends to over-bite
She's an emotional wreck emotions fumigating as they
Incite becoming more powerful as they ignite
Just wishing that she had more time and perhaps she
Could've help lately she's been distancing herself
Asking if there's more to Life?

Quite an insightful piece of poetry written with clarity of thought and mind. A witty rendition set aside for sober reflection. Thanks for sharing Laquory.
