Woke up this morning,
Another day
Another dawn,
Turn off the alarm
Work to be done.
I remember my working days,
Sometimes, when off on weekends,
I would set my alarm
For my wake up time - early morn.
When the alarm went off,
I would have the joy
Of turning it off,
Then turning over on my side,
For more - Restful Sleep.
Try it! !

Kumarmani, Thanks for the comment. Yes, I enjoyed my working years! Had a purpose to get up, now being retired, every day is Saturday. To get up, and have nowhere to go!
A touching expression has been made hauntingly on morning joy. I appreciate the way of presentation. Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed your " alarm clock follies" Original and amusing anecdote, or should I say, " work antidote" ?
Sandra, Thank you for the comment. I see that you have 3,752 poems listed, quite impressive! Poetry is a great escape from the " Day to Day" , and allows one's spirit to soar.

You have a different sense of humor, Hank! Most people wouldn't even set the alarm! But I know you. You always wake up long before most people's alarm clocks go off anyway. What time did you write the poem? 3: 50 a.m. I rest my case!
7 September 2019,03: 04am.. Kim, Yes, Another morning. I no longer set my alarm. I like the early morning. Like the old saying - Early to bed, Early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.
