Mrs. Jex Poem by Hillary Unknown

Mrs. Jex

My kindergarten teacher…there’s a poem called “All I ever needed to know I learned in kindergarten”…she taught me so many things…plus she had a baby the year I was in her class and she had another baby the year my sister was in her class (Just thought it was interesting) I love her so much! It seems like just yesterday that she brought in her chickens for us to see…of course I didn’t like them…but it was still fun…the most memorable yr. of elementary school

Learning our colors
And how to play nice
Learning our numbers
And saying them twice
Learning to share
And make friends on the way
Learning to color
Each and every day
Playing with chickens
While others did not
Playing with boys
Pretending to make food in a pot
Learning to say a prayer before a meal
Playing with friends and learning boys don’t bite
Teaching us all
Shining a light
In the right direction
And praying we’d follow
Hoping to fill our brains
Not leave them hollow
Thank you for teaching me
All that you did
All of the information you gave me
Cannot be hid
