Muscle Car Melt-Down Poem by wayne bright

Muscle Car Melt-Down

metal on metal, the engine whines
the oil thins out, moving parts grind
metal on metal, the first signs show
oil consumption, bearings start to go
metal on metal, the pistons slap
the engine loses power, the rockers tap
metal on metal, too late to turn back
detonation, the pistons crack
metal on metal, a screaming cry
a rod is thrown, the engine dies
