Music I Hear Poem by Timothy David

Music I Hear

I sit here drunk and lonely
And I little worse for wear
Drinking a bottle of red wine
With a drinkers low down stare
Think what am I doing
Being such a low down bum
Drinking red wine alone
Isn't that much fun
I play song after song
Reciting every word
Think out aloud
What is it I've just heard
Do I believe these words just because my ears are bound
To take in all the meaning
When they just really like the sounds
Am I influenced that much
Am I really here
Is my life truly deciphered
Buy all the things I hear
Can I make my own choices?
Is my souls that wise?
Or is my heart just wearing
My ears eery disguise
