Musings Of A Blue Dinosaur Poem by Paul Warren

Musings Of A Blue Dinosaur

The uniform was put on each work day
It started as blue serge cleaned and pressed creases to stay
And I progressed through the years dedicated
Changing blue and less parade ground antiquated

I wore it with pride and saw things through
Learning about people and knowing what to do
There were times when I questioned it all
Sometimes laughing or crying as I do recall

The years rolled on and some things changed
Requiring from me an attitude that was rearranged
And my path became less clear in it all
For me to stay with the blue and adversely call

I remembered what an older member had said to me
You'll know when your time to leave will be
When it came I knew I couldn't stay in the mix
And I couldn't see that new simple ideas for me wouldn't be fixed

So a clear decision was made
To go on to other things and let it all fade
I sit and watch it function without me now
While I sit on the outside looking on not a part of the how.
