My Angel Poem by Steffi Webster

My Angel

In the dark and the chaos
Fire burns.

Draws me like a beacon.
Flame speaks through the weeks.
Hope, love and passion
But the fire burns too bright.

Through stagnant night
A treasure of pleasure
Can doom me forever.
The glimpse of the gaze of
The phoenix I seek
Sends molten magma
Searing my veins.

Feel it begin, the
Fever of the skin.

Ache for connection
Avoiding own reflection.
Helpless trust, can’t leave
My heart

To rust.

Apart we must be
Until I am free.
But though I cannot touch
Or taste still I
Love.

And I cannot fault or
Stray from fallen angel
From above.

Never thought would
Earn his gaze a
Tangled maze my heart
Runs through.
Beats for. He I adore.

Know I love him.

Will love him ‘til
Rainbows colours
Fade.
Silent falls the serenade
As birds repent the sky.
My soulless soul with him
Will ’twine and dreams
Will fly to rule love’s sky.

For J.
