My Baby Cry Poem by Kerrie Smith

My Baby Cry

That day you left my baby all alone.
Broke my heart, you didn't hear him moan.
Lying in bed, drunk you lay.
Why did I ever let him stay?
My special boy, you did not care.
Alone in his walker, it wasn't fair.
he could've been hurt, could've had a fall.
But I didn't know, you didn't answer my calls.
Listening to my boy, screaming outside.
Sobbing so hard caused pain I can't hide.
Finally you got up and answered the door.
Lucky I didn't knock you on that floor!
I picked him up and held him tight.
Wiped his tears and did not fight.
My baby boy needed me more.
The first thing I did was carry him out that door!
