My Coffee Stain Poem by Timmy Tubbs

My Coffee Stain

A laughing stock to you and your friends
Thanks for bringing these lifeless years to an end
I’ll just be over here behind your corner
With a perfect plan to make you spill your coffee
All down my shirt

I think you are searching for Mr. Rogers
A soft featured gentlemen to replace the pain
He will throw tender lines that land on you so perfectly
Little does he know, I’m just around your corner
Wearing a white collared shirt
Waiting for your coffee to land
Throw an apology at this new man blessed with curious eyes
I'm flattered I still steal the oxygen from your lungs
My squinted browns and a low smirk would easily suffice
And once again, you’re mine

But I’ll have to reach a little deeper than that
I do not bear happiness, only deceitful lies to your eyes
“Do I know you from somewhere? ” She will try
As easy as it would be to carry you away
Over and over again
I think I’ll pass today
“It’s okay madam. This shirt is old anyway.”
“I’ll get it later. You have a wonderful day.”
