My Computer Packed It In Poem by Raymond Farrell

My Computer Packed It In

Its been three days
Since my computer
Packed it in
I hauled it off
To the shop today
Good news
The extended warranty
Is still good
The geeky kid
At the store
Did all the paperwork
And told me
It'll take two weeks
I feel like I've been flung
Back into some bygone age
That I vaguely remember
Yet I existed in it
For most of my adult life
Prior to PCs and the Internet
When time was spent
Reading, contemplating, socializing
Whatever went on
Exactly
I am no longer sure
I've been doing more reading
Since my computer crashed
But my book collection is limited
Most of my reading material
Is now
There is no longing on my behalf
For some bygone Golden Age
I am bored stiff
And just hoping
They get my PC
Up and running ASAP!
