My Conscience Poem by Amber Leigh

My Conscience

A look in the mirror,
Reflection I see,
Staring down,
Myself before me,
I turn around,
There I am,
Envy of green,
This I didn’t plan,
My shadow grabs me,
By the throat,
Stares me down,
Doesn’t let go,
“Set things right,
You’ll get through,
Be the good one,
I’ll release you.”
“I promise I will,
Just let go of me,
You’re right conscience,
It’s the best way for me.”
