My Dear Poem by Anthony Esposito

My Dear

Their smile’s more crooked
Than the devils spine
There’s a war inside you
That you will soon find
It’s raging in your heart
Spirit and mind

I changed my ways
Of who I am
Yet it haunts me
Again and again
I could not help it
And that’s not a friend

I let something dear
Fall in the wrong hands
And that something dear
Was carried across the land

The sun is your smile
Bright as can be
It shines off the moon
And strikes down upon me

So look for the moon
For I look at the sun
Even though it sets
The day is not done

I bathe in the light
Its glory’s sweet lips
The light that you give
Makes me crave for that kiss

I will not rest
When the sun doesn’t shine
Not even this war
Can change this mans mind

When you look to the moon
When I look to the sun
The days not over
For the war is not won
