My Father's Advice Poem by Adams King

My Father's Advice

Rating: 5.0

I was told by my father
Never to eat the bearded meat
Of a woman
He said the water in a coconut
Makes little children dull
For no one knew where from it comes

That fermented palm wine
In the calabash of glory
Shouldn't be pursued at a young age
Before maturity is assumed
One need break the yoke of indiscipline

Never be lured my son he said
To kiss that paradise of a strange woman
There is a fruit of many sweetness
Between her soft enticing walls
Such have stolen the strength
and will of many great kings
