My Goodbye Poem by echo burke

My Goodbye

I can feel the storm rise up in me
the calm of the capsule
my sanctuary no more

My eyes glaze
and my body doubles
as it hits the floor

I fight for life
for reason to laugh
but I am at a loss

my stomach boils
and my guts churn
i'm without a cause

your voice echoes
loud and clear
but you dont exist

I reach out
and wish to feel you
I cant resist

sharp and real
the only thing
that can save me

it runs crimson
from each capillary
to stop the breathing

as I empty out
and drift away
you come back

your foolish grin
and your misty eyes
I relax

my eternity
for I have found peace
at a price
you could never pay
the words you could never say
my goodbye
