My Granddaughter's Mother Poem by Jeannette Heywood

My Granddaughter's Mother

Rating: 4.7

The way that they look at each other,
my Granddaughter and her Mother.
To witness such a bond is a blessing from beyond.
Their eyes lock into gaze unbroken.
Converse and no words need be spoken.
She plays and her baby's smile beams.
Then she sings her into sweet dreams.
Together they have much to discover,
my granddaughter and her Mother.

An absolute beauty in just nine lines! This granddaughter is your daughter's daughter or your son's? 'Together they have much to discover, my granddaughter and her Mother.' - And the poet discovers their imagined discourse from a distance!
