My Heart Poem by Robert Gilchrist

My Heart

My heart is not impervious
Words, and actions have sharp edges
Age and experience may toughen my shell
But my blood is only skin deep
I wear my heart on my sleeve
Which means it is more exposed
But also more accessible
Which is how I like it.
