that night i threw my keys
into the lake
thinking i found a home.
last night you told me
to find them.
i almost drowned.
tonight i hope to find help
a woman with a dryer
or a clothes line,
sunshine
and a warm breeze.
i still haven't found those keys
and as desperate as i feel
i don't want them
or to stand alone soaked again.
I, too, threw my keys in a lake a while back... perhaps that's why this resonates so profoundly. I adore how you presented this - it whispers to me in a language I understand. It's subtle and yet somehow... incredibly loud at the same time. Beautiful, poet. ~Christine

What can I say? Your poetry speaks to me, with eloquence. You’ve captured something here, pride for one… a moment in time, and it is good.
