My Only One Poem by Steffi Webster

My Only One

Through the shadowed window
Breaks the soothing of the sun
To warm and wake the gliding
Dreams that drift and slide
In delicious harmony, swift
And strolling through the
Night sky in my mind.
To wake and stretch the
Limbs born and blessed
And feel the soft embrace
Of he who beside me rests
As peaceful and as golden,
An angel in his sleep.
I wish to weep with joy
And yearning. Softest skin,
Delicate touch to claim
And hold me with calm love
Through the rain. Again
I gaze upon his face, the
Longing grows to feel
Those changing autumn
Eyes pierce me with pride.
Make me feel worth something,
And see through these windows
The sun of the soul. Bodies
Pressed in perfect rhyme
With nothing left but endless
Time. Sleep my love,
My perfect one. You shift
And hold me, the twitches of
Dream and wonder what they
Mean. Tighten your hold
And claim me to your
Side, overwhelmed with
The tide of love that guides
Me on. Caress your skin to
Reassure I have not gone.
Shall wait in your arms
And watch your rising fall
Of gentled breathing for to you
I am the world.
But you are my shining sun.
My only one.
