My Return Poem by Lauren Phillips

My Return

Rating: 4.7

i've missed you
(you've missed me, right?)
it's been a while
(sorry)
but i'm back so don't worry
(i'm here now)
i haven't forgotten
(did you think i had?)
i'm still living
(if you call this life)
and as far as i know
(but i don't know everything)
the world is still spinning
(as always)
and i believe now
(after a long while)
everything should be okay
(but that doesn't really mean it will)
but how i see it, it will be
(but is it not true that nothing is as it seems?)
so i'd like to tell you
(are you willing to listen?)
i love you.
(now, like i never had before)

I would either put a space between the last letter of the line before the lines in parentheses or just make the parenthetic lines completely separate lines. Not sure I understand the need to squish them together the way they are now.
