My Right Poem by Ronald Strickland

My Right

Your Right your right,
were the words of the song.

Soon i found, I was far from home.
Now pick up the steps. And the song goes on.

So far from home, but i 'm not alone.
So many brothers and sisters here with me
that are far from their home.

No need to worry Jody's got your gal and gone,
words from the song goes on.

My brothers who know the words of the song sang along.
Words of the song say we drove a cadillac,
but now we pack it on our backs.

Never knew it would be a fact.

A brother over your shoulder dodging,
crawling to get him back to the place
we called the world that was our home.

It's one, two, three shuffle the the door,
jump right out on the count of four.
And the song goes on.

Turn off the sound, so we can put our weapons down.
For those of us who continue to count cadence count.

We count our blessings and remember our brothers
and sisters who continual to march keeping in step.
We continual to sang our songs.
