My Shadow Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

My Shadow

I sit; he sits
I stand; he stands
I walk; he walks
I jump; he does the same
I eat and drink
See him doing those as well
But he gains not as I do
Just imitations
He is my fair weather friend
Very good at disappearing acts
Sometime I see it
Other times he is nowhere to be found
He is my shadow
My imitator
A friend not on my talking terms
Walks in and move out at will
