My Song For You Poem by Joyce Hemsley

My Song For You

My own sweet love, the waves of time are rolling
I need you here, I need you everywhere.
Oh lonesome night, for there is no-one for me
And so I sing to you, this sweet and simple air.

I sense your love when midnight is upon me
And when the stars whisper their melody.
Please come back, my heart is sad and lonely
And only you can end life's misery.

So hurry home, we have no time to wander
For we are old ~ not many years have we.
September rose will bloom a little longer
If you will bring your love back home to me.

(poem written by me in 2003)
