My Time Poem by Terry Hoffman

My Time

When a long day's over,
I like to have some wine,
sit down in my fav'rite chair,
because it feels so fine.

Oft I'll put a movie on
and then kick off my shoes.
It has been a stressful day
and I have paid my dues.

As I sit and watch my film,
relaxing in my ease,
I think this is my own time and
I will do as I please.

Sometimes I will read a book
or maybe magazine.
Escape to another world
to see what can be seen.

Some decadent Cheese Doodles,
I think I'll nibble on,
perhaps some hard salami,
now that the day is gone.

Then I will summon Lucie
to join me in my chair.
Snuggling right close by me,
we make a comfy pair.

I'm very sure that others have
their own ways to relax,
but this is mine and I will
enjoy it to the max.
