Myrtle Tree Poem by Tristian Ford

Myrtle Tree

Rating: 5.0

The feeling of love is all that I've ever known
Expressed easily now that I've finally grown
The Myrtle tree
A symbol of love milestones
A bloodless victory has once again
left this pink-blush tone glossy green leaves, star-shaped stamens that grow
Silent overlong
Into blooming purple-black berry
Love songs

He burst into tears inside her arms
He cried weak
after
He wept strong
He looked for love in a dark cave
He found himself one scarce furlong

Umm Humm… apparently
He was morally wrong

She was just like me
Sensuous nonetheless desperate
Earthly and by all means drug-free
The heat and humidity of love
we can tolerate
though no one waters us
We grow immortal quickly

His head below her cheeks
Her face, above a spotted dress of dark blue Crepe de-chine facet of
gleam natural divine beauty

He and She
under this Myrtle tree

Cold
Sadness and grief
Soon fade away into
Hot
Passion and hope
Absolutely
