This flower is in my garden, too,
But I don't know what it is. Do you?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is not a contest. There is no prize for telling me the answer.

This flower appeared this year in my flower garden and I don't know what it is.

Does anyone recognize it? It's very tall (about a three-foot stem) .

This looks like a poppy to me. I used to have some in my garden, but not for a long time. I have seen some growing in gardens around town.

It is a poppy. I have some in my garden. A man from Michigan died from poppy seed tea. They contain opiods.
