Nearer To My Right Leg Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Nearer To My Right Leg

YOU have helped me to recover,
From an amputation six weeks ago,
And shortly I shall begin a New Life,
But I shall have to take things slow.

I am anxious to start living,
Independently again,
But this time from a wheelchair,
How? ~ I leave to YOUR Ken.

I intend to start Driving,
Shopping and Cooking too,
How YOU have planned my Life,
I shall willingly leave to YOU.

My Right leg it was buried
In Bushey Jewish Cemetery,
I may soon live near it,
‘tis Ironic ~ YOU will agree.

Where I shall live and what I shall do,
Has been planned since I was born,
I fully understand it,
As this day begins its new morn.

14 March 2014.
