Never Coming Back Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Never Coming Back

Rating: 5.0

Never coming back

When the easterly winds arrive
I shall fly the kite of my life
Leave my home for good,
I shall not brood

The night before i leave i will eat my last supper,
cooked by my wife who i know will suffer,
bid her adieu in melancholic silence
and prepare my divorce from her kindness

On the day
On the hour
On the minute
On the second

I shall sneak out of the house after midnight
And, do my disappearing rights
Look to the east towards my new home
My new home unknown

My kite will rise and rise and rise
Over the ocean for many nights
fly to nether yonder lands
my future in my hands

Fly to my new wife
New inlaws, new fights
Never making the mistake,
And,
Never coming back
