Never Just Me Poem by Janelle Morehart

Never Just Me

My sanity is my own
My madness is my own
My life is mine
My death will be mine
It's all mine
Completely mine
But what life is this?
Greed and shameless dreams
Its mine, mine, mine
When can it be we?
When can it be ours?
When will the greed die
When will the shameless come to light
We are all in this together
I cannot be me without a we
Without the we there cant be a they nor them
Which turns to us
Such finality
Such brutal truth
We are not innocent
We are not naive
We are all one
So it is never is
Never will be
Just me
