Never Short, Ask & It Is Given Poem by Sumita Jetley

Never Short, Ask & It Is Given

Rating: 5.0

In the quiet corners of an ordinary day,
A voice whispered low, 'No one pampers me.'
Sara, clad in the comfort of her evening wear,
Stood at crossroads, the city's hum a distant prayer.

A choice lay bare, 'twixt cab's embrace and walk's allure,
Her feet chose paths where heartbeats measure the pure.
In dhikr's gentle cadence, a soul's silent plea,
Through crowded streets, her spirit wandered free.

Fate's design, with subtle threads, drew near,
Nitin's steps, hesitant, closed the space of lonely fear.
Together they walked, the night's cool breath a song,
Conversing lives, where silent understandings belong.

Morning's light brought Renu, bearing gifts of old ties,
Laughter and memories under softening skies.
Sara's home, a sanctuary of leaf and light,
Welcomed the warmth of friendship's delight.

Hands raised in prayer, eyes closed in peace,
The whispers returned, in gratitude's release.
For in seeking, we are sought, in asking, we find,
The universe conspires, lovingly intertwined.

Raise a prayer, a salah of joyous sound,
For in the seeking, so are we profoundly found.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Beautiful ode to friendship, that is how I take it. The soft smiling rhyme scheme soothed my angst. References to dhikr and salah created an ethereal Sufi vibe. Enjoyed thoroughly.
