Never Trust The Teacher Poem by Franchesca Mia Tortoza

Never Trust The Teacher

Never trust the teacher. For in life,
Empty is learning if there is no urge to explore.
Vain is the urge to explore if it is dormant.
Everything else follows something, and it is trouble that tails
Resistance to learn on one's own.

Torture to the mind it does
Resemble when a wrong source one trusts
Undoubtedly. I say—trust never the teacher.
Search for other measures, save for
The mentor of the schoolboy.

Techniques and theories the youth does
Hold, and this knowledge shall be
Easily broken when the wrong sources they believe.

Tragedy shall inevitably follow if
Extinct is the youth's thirst for knowledge; their
Appreciation for the truth.
Condemned our world will undoubtedly be if our young
Heroes unknowledgeable be.
Everyone hold the power to either
Raze or save our world—depending on who they trust.
