Night ©

Rating: 5.0

Some nights prolong the agony,
glowering shadows tantalize;
Just adding to the misery,
with doleful, dour unseeing eyes.

Night crawls into the waiting dawn,
to give up the lonely dark;
But sulking shade will linger on,
intent to leave a stagnant mark.

Then morning breaks impatiently,
weary from the long delay;
Bursts opens up her treasury -
another sunlit brand new day.

How nice to know a long drawn night,
ends when we choose to see the light.
