Night's Rain Poem by Kevin Carney

Night's Rain

Rating: 3.5

Night rains…
Walk the city streets.
Cold, the drops feel…
Warm the belly.
Drinks in some nameless bar.
Dark the night.
Quiet and empty.
Collar turned up…
Rain upon the neck…
Dreaming of the days.
So far away…
Of sand and sandcastles…
Ocean waves…
Another person in a very different time.
So simple were those days.
Childhood innocence…
Lost forever…
Into the jungle…
Of back streets and dark ally’s
Loneliness and empty feelings…
Gone are those days…
And loving nights.

I like the dreaming of better days in this poem. It helps you get through the bad days.
