No Laughing Gas Poem by douglas lewis

No Laughing Gas

A word barely tumbles
In the lightness
Of my head.
My sweet breath tainted
By the purring gases.
I lie in awe
Of a halo like a wreath
That hangs on every thought.
A godly calm.
I will not speak
Or laugh
In this silence.
