No Longer Rare Poem by Francis Duggan

No Longer Rare

To love others you need to love self it does seem this way
But so many flawed people in the Human World of today
Who love themselves too much and for self only care
The narcissist with others does not have love to share
The narcissist loves three people me, myself and i
Those who say differently of them are broadcasting a lie
If your infatuation with self is in the extreme
You cannot love others is how it does seem
In the twenty first century the look at me syndrome does seem the in
thing
And the praises of self so many only too willing to sing
But self praise is no praise as the wise one did say
An old saying from the past that is relevant today
The narcissistic of their own needs are only aware
And sad to think their sort are no longer rare.
