No More Waiting Poem by Ray Hansell

No More Waiting

Do you remember
The day you went away
You told everyone
Someday you'd be back to stay

That was so long ago
When you spoke those words
Even to this day
I remember what I heard

But since you've been gone
My heart has been in pain
I really think it's time
To end this waiting game

You see I can no longer
Put my life on hold for you
But in my heart I know
Exactly what I have to do

So, I'm writing to tell you
This is the last goodbye
I really wish we'd had the chance
To have given us a try

But the time for us
It has come and gone
You seem to be the one
Who had no troubles moving on

So I just want to tell you
That I won't forget
Waiting for you to return
Has left me with no regrets

You see that was a choice
It was my choice alone
To sit here waiting
For you to come back home

I loved you way back then
As I love you still
In my heart I know
That I always will
