No One To Trust And The Universe Laughs… Poem by Confusion Undastood

In this world the lesson taught is honesty is not the best policy
Lie, Cheat, Hurt and Betray is what is encouraged throughout the day.
Smile in peoples faces, yet hate them in your heart
Bring another down and get a good start.

What a sad world we live in where Joy and love are obsolete,
Where mirages and illusion are now the real deal
Where people only want to know people, to see what they can get
Slaughtering the one who trust them most and having no regrets.

As always and now fervently I will clasp my lips and close my eyes
Stifling the thoughts I would say out loud
As freedom of speech is not free as it is not without consequence
And words said in secret will always be out in the open.

If hell exists this is the precursor, with only God to trust
No one to confide, I wonder if lonely I will be for the rest of my life
Good friends I may have but gone they will be
As life is a cosmic joke and I provide the comedy.
