It was so natural to put your happiness above mine
Your wants your needs your peace of mind
I gave
No matter the sacrifice
And looking through your eyes
I’ve never been so terrified
Pity and mistrust for the monster that formed inside
What changed so deeply
Did you ever know me
Because the core of what I am in connection and difference
That is all I shared
Now you dame me for it
The things that you love most stem
From what you cannot accept
If you could not believe in that
How can you believe in me
I cannot change what I see
I know of no other way than to be me
Yet that is inhuman and unacceptable
Besides the moment you reach
The moment you need
Some one something anything to save you
Until you see what hand you’re holding
All is lost
All if forgotten
All is judged by what you can’t conceive
I grip my pride the worn jacket that hides my scarred form
And leave
To be the hunter and prey
The magnet of lost souls
And unlovable beast
To do all that must be done
To save in silence
It is every soldiers calling
No matter what you may become
It is who you are
To be the last in glory
And the first in blood
Still I know no other way
Than to be me
