You lurk in the shadows
Crawling in the depths
Of my youth,
Feasting on my innocence
I was your prey
Feeding on your
Sickened mind.
Somehow,
I once felt
The beauty of
The Reefs,
Not escapable
From the mountains
That I hoped to climb.
But you tore down
My mountains
And let the landscape
Bury
The clues you left behind.
Like the earth's core
You came
Without warning
I could not escape
You left me with scars
So uninvited,
Yet changing
My very core.
I believe you
Will revolt again,
Once more,
Silencing
The only voice
That still hears you
Through the echoes
Of our troubled children.
Pray to the Gods.
But please know,
That Mercy is given
Only to those
To whom hearts
Live within the light.
You have lived your life
Much in the Dark.
