Noel Was Kissed By Another Cat Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

It was the dinner time for our outside cats.
Six cats were waiting outside a sliding door.
As soon as my wife opened this sliding door,
One cat sneaked inside very quickly.

A sudden surprise caught my wife's eyes:
It was not Monkey who sneaked inside
But it was Lydia, who gave Noel a soft kiss.
She came out as fast as she came in.

Noel was confused by this sudden kiss.
He wondered if it was Monkey who kissed him again.
He felt this kiss was different with scent and touch.
He decided to hide under a table after a short daze.

He pondered on the kisses of these two cat ladies
While using chairs as his protecting barriers.
Hiding himself behind the chairs with watchful eyes
He wondered on the meaning of these two kisses.

NOEL BỊ MÈO KHÁC HÔN TRỘM

Ngoài cửa kiếng, sáu con mèo đang đợi
Đã đến giờ ăn tối, chúng chờ đây.
Sẵn sàng rồi khi vợ tôi mở cửa
Một con mèo len lén chạy vào mau.

Qúa bất ngờ, vợ tôi mau ánh mắt
Bà nhận ra không phải mèo Monkey.
Hôn Noel, Lydia hôn mèo này thật nhẹ
Rồi vội vàng nó lại lẻn ra ngay.

Rất bàng hoàng vì bị hôn thật vội
Noel hỏi Monkey lại hôn sao
Nhưng cảm giác, mùi hương thì không giống.
Dưới gầm bàn nó trốn với hoang mang.

Nghĩ rất nhiều về hai lần hôn trộm
Noel nhờ mấy ghế để trốn thân.
Nấp sau ghế, Noel nhìn lấm lét
-Hôn thế này thì có nghĩa là sao?
