Rains had come every year
Drenching earth cold and damp
Breaking soil, forcing streams
Looking man through Crystal eyes
And rains must have seen
Us who waited looking out
From our windows at the trees
Feeling beautiful and a little cold
People who had never had
A better friend than monsoon rains
That made their hearts a little dance
And washed away unseen tears
Monsoon brought them a 2nd life
For a little part of the year
made men little boys again
And women pretty princesses
Rains made us forget who we were
& live our dream as we really should
And make our laughs & little dances
& cries that we'll remember ever
Every time rains came again
Some were not to be seen again
They were on a different train
Another destination another life
Rains missed them dearly
For they were the best of men
Dancers whose legs were tied
And singers who only sang in rain
Loyal brothers, fiercest friends
And those who waited to open
Their hearts to someone who cared
To tell their tales, happy and sad
And rains heard them every year
And missed them afterwards
wished those men to come again
Who could smile to rain & rain only.
