Not A Machine Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Not A Machine

I’ll turn away from the touch of your hand
I won’t respond to your fervent cries
I’d let you go, astray, on your own
Despite your tries, pleading,
I will close my eyes, and take nothing

No, I won’t kiss you as you yearn for it
It’s going to be the best thing that happened to you
It might be the best thing that could ever happen to me
I’d rather pierce your human heart
Than find out mine isn’t a machine
