Not For Sale

My soul was steeped in total shame
My heart was dark as night
Until my God the day You came
And bathed this child in Light

What was it Lord in me You’d seen?
Why is it that You came?
Why make this wretched sinner clean?
By taking all the blame?

My God I fail to understand
Just why You’ve chosen me
It must be that You had it planned
For how else could it be?

For now I walk with Christ Your Son
This child, who’s least of all
Nothing I’ve said nothing I’ve done
Could merit such a call

The parting of the mighty sea
Was such an awesome deed
Yet what You did in saving me
May even all exceed

You gave me all I’ve ever yearned
Salvation through and through
What can’t be bought nor ever earned
Was given free by You

Accept my God this song of praise
Receive Your servant’s life
Allow me sing eternal days
As Jesus humble wife

Life’s precious gift is Yours to give
To all in Christ who serve
Oh Lord my God that I may live
Is more than I deserve.
