Not Interested For Reward Poem by manaswini dash

Not Interested For Reward

Everybody moved ahead with courage but I could't.
For a while I became speechless and stand straight.
Among the two side by side roads,
I choose the solitary one with my heart's nod.
Because I always fear the crowd for loosing myself
While searching for life my dreams may break.
Life may hide itself in the foggy air.
I may mingle in the void with despair.
So, I never repent for choosing that road lone.
Though I have to walk on it all alone.
Many friends choose to move on the crowded road.
With a box full of their acquisitions as their load.
With a crown of ego and their arrogant footsteps
They made the earth shaken severely by their walks.
They proceed with much fun and cheer
Spending their acquisitions one after another.
To which they thought was an unending resource
Actually ended up midway taking away all their force.
Do you know what happened then?
Their crown of ego fall down
Their speed also slowed down.
But I was proceeding as usual
Slowly but steadily.
Like the tortoise of our childhood story.
Some shouted from behind
"Why are you walking so slow like a blind? "
To win the race you have to run first"
But I know it was not very late.
This world has neither a starting or an ending.
Every step here is a new beginning.
I am already at the winning point.
I can very well see the borderline paint.
I may or may not touch the line.
The decision is exclusively mine.
Because I am not interested for the reward.
By living as per my wish, I won, and left everybody behind.
