Not Now Poem by Alex Night

Not Now

Rating: 3.5

Dark eyes spill untold secrets
and silent lies.
They are the portal to immense,
immortal,
and indispensable pain.
They tell the story
of a girl so loved
yet so hated
and envied.
She hated her figure
her speech
and her way of thinking.
No, don't leave us.
Don't abandon them.
Those who you promised
you would never leave.
Those who tell you they love you
but you don't get the chance
to see.
They don't lie,
you can see it.
Can you live for someone else
when they think you live for yourself?
Yet you lie to her
so she sees you
as she thinks you are
forever.
Do you still wish
to pick up that knife?
